Responsibilities
- Head chef and overall management of patient catering service for a 78 bed dementia home.
- Providing fresh cook meals and overall management of the Catering Team to ensure efficient and effective patient meal services across this 7 days a week service.
- Full responsibility for stock control, rotation and ordering, menu reviews, allergen management and management of menus and meals for patients on dysphagia diets.
- Supervise kitchen staff and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and preferences, providing tailored catering solutions.
- Oversee food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and adherence to culinary standards.
- Train and mentor staff in culinary techniques, hospitality service, and food safety practices.
- Handle any issues or complaints that may arise during events promptly and professionally.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality or catering industry.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, staff, and vendors.
- Experience in culinary arts or a related field is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with bartending practices is an advantage.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
