Field Service Engineer - UK&I - Machinery Maintenance - Glass Industry - Electrical bias essential - 40-45k Salary + travel time rate + car (w/private usage) + other benefits.

Need to live within 90 minutes travel of Wolverhampton area (Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Nottingham, Stoke, Sheffield, Leicester, Coventry all suitable locations)

Are you an experienced service or maintenance engineer with experience of repairing large machinery in a manufacturing environment?

Do you have electrical qualifications and can you work safely with 24v and 415v systems?

Would you be happy to work a field based position with little to no weekend working (1 weekend worked per engineer over the last year), paid travel time outiside of 8-5 working hours (extra 15 p/h) and fully expensed overnight stays whenever you're required to work away?

Do you hold a full UK driving licence and a UK passport (Ireland work occasionally required)?

If the answers are yes, our client are looking to add to their growing maintenance division following an influx of new orders for their machinery across the UK & Ireland. They specialise in the manufacture and supply of specialist Insulating Glass and Glass Processing Machinery.

The role offers a great degree of variety. Sometimes you may work away (Mon-Fri) on large machinery installations, others you'll simply be on call - no callouts are expected to be dealt with out of hours unless extremely urgent, which is rare.

What you need...

  • Previous experience of working in a repair or service engineer role or similar with a background in electrical / mechanical / pneumatic / hydraulic repair work is ideal
  • Majority of a 60/40 split electrical bias. The candidate should hold a minimum of City and Guilds or NVQ level 3 in Engineering (or equivalent). Working with 24v and 415v systems
  • Experience of repairing and/or servicing glass industry equipment, would be a bonus, but not essential as training will be given.
  • Good communication skills are essential in this customer facing role, as is experience of dealing with customers in a pressurized environment. Word and excel Knowledge.
  • Must be able to work on your own or as part of a team and be PC literate.
  • A full UK driver`s license and a valid UK passport with minimum 9 months.

The role

  • Carrying out servicing, repairs and installations at our customer sites in accordance with After Sales Service Levels.
  • Utilizing effective time management skills to balance priority to Key Accounts and Service contract customers, whilst maintaining the most economical route.
  • Responsible for the resources, tools, parts and skills to effectively complete the necessary task and repairs set.
  • Responsible for accurately closing down jobs and cases, providing repair data, serial numbers and parts used in a timely manner and reporting all unresolved faults experienced to the Technical Service Manager.
