Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Stoke - on - Trent
Salary: 42,000 - 44,000
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off rotational shift (No nights) 40 hours per week



About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our maintenance team within a demanding heavy industrial environment. This role is key to ensuring that all electrical systems and production equipment operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. You'll work as part of a multi-skilled engineering team maintaining high-value, large-scale plant machinery and supporting production uptime.



Shift Details

  • Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off rotational shift (no nights)

  • Hours: 40 hours per week average

  • Shift 1: Monday - Friday, 06:00 - 16:00

    • If the shift falls on a Saturday or Sunday, it will be a 10-hour shift starting at 06:00, 07:00, or 08:00

  • Shift 2: Monday - Friday, 12:00 - 22:00

    • If the shift falls on a Saturday or Sunday, it will be a 10-hour shift starting at 06:00, 07:00, or 08:00

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on heavy industrial plant and equipment.

  • Diagnose and rectify electrical faults safely and efficiently to minimise downtime.

  • Work on motors, drives, control panels, conveyors, and high-voltage distribution systems.

  • Support continuous improvement, reliability, and plant upgrade projects.

  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

  • Collaborate closely with mechanical and process engineers to maintain optimal plant performance.



Skills and Experience Required

  • Time-served Electrical Engineer or equivalent qualification (NVQ Level 3 / HNC / ONC).

  • Proven experience in a heavy industrial, manufacturing, or process plant environment.

  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills on electrical and control systems.

  • Knowledge of PLCs, variable speed drives, and instrumentation (desirable).

  • Sound understanding of industrial safety standards and permit-to-work systems.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional engineering team.
