Mechanical Fitter at a Leading Company

Are you a skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter looking for a new challenge? This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative company that is at the forefront of their industry. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and servicing a wide range of heavy plant and equipment, as well as carrying out domestic-style maintenance within a public building.



Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Fitter Role:

  • Undertake routine maintenance, breakdown support, and installation of a diverse range of plant equipment
  • Assemble truck-based cargo scanners, including fitting the generator and modifying the fuel system
  • Install Linac and other Varian equipment, as well as fit and align detector boxes
  • Manufacture any additional components as required, using engineering drawings or your own initiative
  • Assemble gantries, portals, and car scanners, including fitting drive motors and wheels
  • Carry out safety checks on workshop equipment and perform building maintenance as needed


What We're Looking for in a Mechanical Fitter:

  • Enjoy technical work and possess excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Graduation from a trade school or successful completion of an apprenticeship
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to safety and attention to detail
