Mechanical Fitter at a Leading Company

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and servicing a wide range of heavy plant and equipment, as well as carrying out domestic-style maintenance within a public building.
Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Fitter Role:
- Undertake routine maintenance, breakdown support, and installation of a diverse range of plant equipment
- Assemble truck-based cargo scanners, including fitting the generator and modifying the fuel system
- Install Linac and other Varian equipment, as well as fit and align detector boxes
- Manufacture any additional components as required, using engineering drawings or your own initiative
- Assemble gantries, portals, and car scanners, including fitting drive motors and wheels
- Carry out safety checks on workshop equipment and perform building maintenance as needed
What We're Looking for in a Mechanical Fitter:
- Enjoy technical work and possess excellent hand-eye coordination
- Graduation from a trade school or successful completion of an apprenticeship
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to safety and attention to detail
