We are seeking individuals who are passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and who want to make a positive, lasting impact on their development.Key Responsibilities:As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students with Autism, ADHD, and Learning Difficulties in their daily learning. Your duties will include:- Personalised Learning Support: Assist students with SEN in accessing and engaging with the curriculum, both in 1:1 settings and small groups. Tailor your approach to meet individual learning styles and needs, helping students overcome barriers to learning.- Behavioural Support: Use strategies to promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social interaction. Help students build essential skills to manage their emotions and work effectively with their peers and teachers.- Collaboration with Teachers and Support Staff: Work closely with the teaching team to create a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages student engagement and progress. Share insights about each student's needs and progress to ensure tailored support.- Assist with Personal Care and Well-being: Provide support to students with their personal care needs, where applicable, and ensure they are comfortable and supported throughout the day.- Building Positive Relationships: Foster trusting, positive relationships with students, encouraging them to develop confidence and independence in their learning and social interactions. Be a constant source of encouragement and motivation.What We're Looking For:We are looking for passionate individuals who are dedicated to supporting students with complex needs. You should have:- Previous Experience in SEN Support: Experience working with children or young adults with Autism, ADHD, and/or Learning Difficulties, either in a school setting or through other educational or care environments, is highly desirable.- Patience and Empathy: The ability to understand and relate to the challenges that students with SEN face. You must be patient, compassionate, and have a calm, reassuring approach when working with students who may need additional support.- Adaptability and Proactivity: Flexibility is key in this role. You'll need to adapt to the changing needs of the students, often on a daily basis, and be proactive in finding creative solutions to support their learning and development.- Strong Communication Skills: The ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents, and other staff members. You should be able to clearly explain instructions and feedback, as well as actively listen to the needs of the students.- Qualifications and Requirements:Relevant Experience or Qualifications in SEN Support: Ideally, you should have experience working in an educational setting with students who have Autism, ADHD, or Learning Difficulties.
