Estimator

Location: Stourbridge, West Midlands (Office-based)Hours: Full-Time | Permanent - 8am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 per annum (Dependent on Experience)

Day to Day Duties:

  • Interpret architectural and furniture drawings (AutoCAD) to produce accurate estimates and detailed cost breakdowns
  • Liaise with clients, designers, and suppliers to gather comprehensive project details
  • Calculate material, labour, and manufacturing costs for bespoke furniture and interior fit-out projects
  • Prepare and submit quotations and tender documentation
  • Support project handovers, ensuring all commercial details are clearly communicated
  • Maintain and update estimates as projects evolve through design and production phases
  • Work closely with the procurement team to secure competitive supplier pricing

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience as an Estimator, preferably in contract furniture, bespoke joinery, or interiors
  • High numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Desirable Skills:

  • Background in manufacturing, bespoke furniture, interior fit-out, or similar production environments
  • Experience working directly with design, sales, and production teams
  • Familiarity with costing software or ERP systems
  • An understanding of lean manufacturing or value engineering principles

Training:

  • On-the-job training provided to familiarise with company-specific processes and systems
  • Ongoing mentoring and support from senior team members
  • Opportunities for external training courses in estimating, design software, or project management as required
  • Development plans to support long-term career progression within the business
