Newly created opportunity to work in a busy manufacturing company offering high end items to all business and private customer

The purpose of the role is to coordinate and supervise the day-to-day activities of the Planning and Sales Administration teams while also balancing customer demand with operational capability.

Main duties to include:

  • Undertake and also ensure other sales administrators handle all customer orders, enquiries, and quotations are processed
  • Accurately enter all orders onto ERP/MRP system
  • Monitor open orders, lead times, and delivery dates, ensuring customers are kept informed of progress or potential delays.
  • Liaise with other departments - production, warehouse, and dispatch - to ensure customer requirements are met
  • Maintain customer records, pricing, and documentation in line with company policies.
  • Handle any customer issues professionally, offering prompt resolution and communication
  • Translate customer demand and order book data into clear and achievable production schedules.
  • Coordinate closely with production supervisors to ensure plans are realistic and resources are available.
  • Review daily and weekly production output, identifying variances and rescheduling where necessary.
  • Monitor material availability in collaboration with procurement and stores.
  • Prepare regular reports on production performance, lead times, and capacity utilisation.

The right candidate would ideally

  • Have strong and proven supervisory/leadership skills
  • Be able to delegate and prioritise workloads
  • Be professional with strong communication skills
  • Able to communicate with production and sales departments
  • Eye for detail and a problem solver
  • Have some experience in scheduling or planning but not essential
  • Experience in supply chain or procurement also advantageous
