Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

The Role

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Production Manager / Quality Controller to lead our client's production operations while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. This is a key role within our growing team, offering the opportunity to take ownership of both the production floor and quality assurance processes.

Key Responsibilities

Production Management

  • Oversee and coordinate daily food production activities to meet client orders and deadlines.
  • Lead, train, and motivate production staff, promoting a culture of quality and accountability.
  • Improve operational efficiency through process evaluation and implementation of best practices.
  • Ensure production targets are met without compromising safety or quality.

Quality Control

  • Develop and maintain robust quality control systems aligned with food safety regulations.
  • Carry out regular inspections, internal audits, and corrective actions where necessary.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant legislation, including HACCP, Food Hygiene Regulations, and BRC standards.
  • Keep thorough and accurate records for traceability and reporting purposes.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Liaise with senior management to align production plans with business goals.
  • Build strong working relationships with suppliers and ensure the quality of incoming materials.
  • Communicate clearly with clients when needed, ensuring satisfaction and consistency of output.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in food manufacturing or production management.
  • Sound understanding of UK food safety legislation and quality control systems.
  • HACCP certification (Level 3 or above) preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, organisation, and communication skills.
  • A hands-on, solution-focused approach with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
