Graduate Lighting Consultant
Salary: 24,000-25,000

A specialist lighting consultancy is seeking a motivated Graduate Lighting Consultant to join its expanding team. This role is ideal for engineering graduates looking to develop their skills in lighting design, technology, and consultancy.

Lighting consultants are key to creating safe, sustainable, and visually striking environments. In this role, you will blend engineering knowledge with creative problem-solving to deliver lighting solutions that meet technical standards while enhancing the user experience.



Role Responsibilities

As part of the lighting team, you will:

  • Develop lighting designs for a variety of office settings, ensuring regulatory compliance and optimal light levels.

  • Use lighting simulation software to analyse illumination, energy efficiency and visual comfort.

  • Conduct on-site light surveys and provide evidence-based recommendations.

  • Produce CAD drawings, design layouts and project documentation.

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers and clients to deliver well-integrated design outcomes.

  • Undertake site visits to inspect installations, record measurements and support commissioning activities.

  • Advise on lighting controls, energy-saving strategies and best-practice design principles.

  • Manage multiple projects, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.



Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

  • Full UK driving licence.



Desirable Experience

  • Lighting-specific qualifications (degree or diploma).

  • Photography skills.

  • Experience carrying out light surveys.

  • Previous experience working on site.
