We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Sous Chef to join the culinary team at our prestigious hotel in Sutton Coldfield. As Pastry Sous Chef, you will play a key role in supporting the Head Pastry Chef in leading the pastry section, developing menus, training junior team members, and ensuring that every sweet creation exceeds expectations.
Key Responsibilities:Support the Head Pastry Chef in the day-to-day running of the pastry kitchen
Assist in the creation, development, and execution of innovative dessert menus
Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest quality and presentation standards
Supervise and mentor junior pastry chefs and kitchen assistants
Maintain cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene standards across the section
Manage stock levels, ordering, and wastage control for pastry ingredients
Contribute ideas for seasonal and special event offerings
Proven experience in a similar role within a high-end hotel or fine dining environment
Strong skills in pastry, baking, and dessert presentation
Creative flair with a keen eye for detail
Passion for quality and consistency
Leadership ability with strong communication and organisational skills
Knowledge of food safety standards (Level 2 or 3 Food Hygiene qualification preferred)
