We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Sous Chef to join the culinary team at our prestigious hotel in Sutton Coldfield. As Pastry Sous Chef, you will play a key role in supporting the Head Pastry Chef in leading the pastry section, developing menus, training junior team members, and ensuring that every sweet creation exceeds expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Head Pastry Chef in the day-to-day running of the pastry kitchen

  • Assist in the creation, development, and execution of innovative dessert menus

  • Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest quality and presentation standards

  • Supervise and mentor junior pastry chefs and kitchen assistants

  • Maintain cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene standards across the section

  • Manage stock levels, ordering, and wastage control for pastry ingredients

  • Contribute ideas for seasonal and special event offerings

What Were Looking For:
  • Proven experience in a similar role within a high-end hotel or fine dining environment

  • Strong skills in pastry, baking, and dessert presentation

  • Creative flair with a keen eye for detail

  • Passion for quality and consistency

  • Leadership ability with strong communication and organisational skills

  • Knowledge of food safety standards (Level 2 or 3 Food Hygiene qualification preferred)
