Job Vacancy: English Teachers - Short & Long-Term Cover
Location: Sutton & Surrounding Boroughs
Salary: 100 - 160 per day (depending on experience and assignment length)
Start Date: From October Half Term onwards
Availability: Short-term (day-to-day) & long-term cover positions available

We are actively recruiting passionate, reliable English teachers to provide cover in secondary schools across Sutton and nearby boroughs. This is a great opportunity for both qualified teachers (QTS) and ECTs, as well as experienced cover supervisors with a strong English background.
About the Role:
We're looking for teachers who can confidently deliver KS3 and KS4 English lessons, following existing schemes of work and ensuring continuity of learning in the absence of regular teaching staff.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering engaging and structured English lessons
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Following pre-set lesson plans (short-term) or planning and marking (long-term)
- Supporting students of varying abilities to stay on task
- Communicating effectively with school staff and leadership teams
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred - ECTs welcome
- Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Adaptable, proactive, and confident in different school environments
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one)
- Legal right to work in the UK
