Uniform Education is working with a specialist provision supporting children and young people with a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism, and associated learning difficulties. They provide a nurturing environment where learners can develop their skills, independence, and confidence, with small class sizes and personalised learning plans.

Role Overview

You will support students in their educational journey, working closely with teachers and HLTAs to deliver tailored learning, promote engagement, and contribute to a positive, inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEND.
  • Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.
  • Support students in accessing the curriculum and participating in learning activities.
  • Assist with personal care and other practical support as required.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Contribute to the development and adaptation of learning resources.
  • Support the social and emotional development of learners.
  • Follow all safeguarding and health & safety policies.

Person Specification

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusion and independence.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are advantageous but not essential.
  • Willingness to undertake training and professional development.
