Your new companyThis long-standing client is looking for an Assistant Company Secretary to join their in-house UK Company Secretariat & Corporate Governance team in Swindon. This role is available on a part-time, job-share or full-time basis. Ideally, you will be able to come into the office 2-3 days per week (if working full-time).

Your new roleThe team comprises four Company Secretaries, one qualified lawyer and one Team Administrator. You will:

  • Provide company secretarial assistance to the board
  • Support operations of other UK boards, board committees and management committees
  • Reviewing and managing constitutional documentation, preparing annual agendas, ensuring papers are of a high quality and observing in-house principles and Board Intelligence
  • Leading on annual processes to support the operations of the team and wider business
  • Identification, assessment and leading implementation of regulatory and legislative changes
  • Ensuring best practice corporate governance principles are implemented in all day-to-day activities
  • Support the team's delivery of Corporate Governance projects
  • Identifying ways to improve efficiency and delivery of the department through implementing key infrastructure to support the team and wider business

What you'll need to succeedYou will either be newly qualified or about to qualify as a Chartered Secretary, or you will have an equivalent level of professional qualification and experience. You will have knowledge and experience of company secretarial work, as well as knowledge of underlying legislation and its application to practical situations.
