Learning Support Worker - Swindon | 14.50 per hour

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with learning disabilities? We're looking for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Worker to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Swindon.


Role Overview: As a Learning Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in supporting children with learning disabilities to access education in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment. Working closely with teachers and other professionals, you'll provide 1:1 and small group support, helping students thrive both academically and emotionally.

Location: Swindon
Pay Rate: 14.50 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, term-time only (full-time and part-time roles available)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with a range of learning disabilities
  • Assist with classroom activities, lesson delivery, and behaviour management
  • Support students with personal care and mobility needs, where required
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals


What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)


Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or other communication tools
  • Relevant qualifications in education or health & social care
