Position - Young Person's Support Worker

What's in it for you? Salary 26,000.00-28,580.00 per year. The hourly rate starts at 12.50 per hour and sleep-ins are 75.00 per shift. If you have an NVQ Level 3 in Children's Residential Care, you would qualify for the higher salary scale

Where you'll be doing it - My client has 2 locations in Swindon in the SN3 and SN4 areas

Your employment contract - Permanent

Your hours - 40 hours per week made up of earlies; 7.00am to 3.00pm, lates 3.00pm to 11.00pm (or long days) and sleep-ins; 11.00pm to 7.00am

Who would you be working for - My client supports young people who are at leaving care age, transition into living independently in a supported living setting and navigate the path into adulthood

What would your responsibilities be ? If your passion is to see young people thrive, you will have the opportunity to help young people, devise a plan, how they're going to achieve their desired goals in life. Each young person is at different stages of development, so in a person-centered approach, you will ensure they feel safe and have the opportunity to grow. Your encouragement and empowerment can shape a person's life, who has suffered trauma, to make good decisions about their future. The goal is to support with positive, strengths-based relationship building that promotes trust and enables independence.

Requirements? Ideally you will be a driver although this is not essential and have worked with the same age group. You will have an understanding of children's safeguarding and empathy of how past trauma can effect a young persons behaviour. Willingness to work in a Rota pattern agreed in advance and to work towards a child care qualification if required.
