We are currently seeking a passionate and inspiring Science Teacher to fulfil a temporary, ongoing position within a specialist day school for pupils aged 11-16 with Autism Spectrum Conditions, Social, Emotional and associated needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people. Unqualified teachers would be considered for this role due to the temporary placement. 

Day to Day of the role:

  • Inspire curiosity and challenge minds with dynamic Science lessons tailored for students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs.
  • Craft and execute lesson plans that ignite a passion for learning and cater to the diverse needs of every student.
  • Employ a variety of teaching techniques to deliver a balanced and adaptable education that keeps students engaged.
  • Foster a positive classroom atmosphere by effectively managing behaviours, ensuring a safe and supportive space for learning.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback to nurture both academic and social growth.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to share innovative practices and contribute to the school's goals.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to refine teaching skills and deepen subject knowledge.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience teaching KS3 or KS4 in both specialist and mainstream settings.
  • Passionate commitment to addressing the diverse needs of every student.
  • Energetic enthusiasm for creating effective and enjoyable learning experiences.
  • Qualified subject specialist, ideally with a strong focus on science.
  • DBS cleared with excellent references.
  • Skilled at working independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Experience in SEMH/SEN settings is a plus, but not a requirement.
