Prince are supporting an established and successful business based in Telford who are looking to recruit a Design Project Engineer to their commercial team. Due to increased sales and workload, they are looking to recruit someone from the construction or building industry who can provide design and engineering support on various bespoke, large-scale projects across the UK.
As the Design Project Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting site surveys, supporting with the tender process, producing bespoke drawings and BOMs, working closely with the commercial team and internal departments, and assisting with installation and customer queries.
We are looking for candidates with construction or build industry background, understanding of engineering principals, knowledge of building regulations, and experience with stress and strength calculations.
The Design Project Engineer will be responsible for:
- Working closely with the commercial team and managers on projects
- Travelling to conducting site surveys across the UK
- Producing technical designs and drawings for customers and the tender process
- Creating BOMs
- Conducting stress and strength calculations
- Supporting various bespoke projects from tender to installation
- Dealing with customer queries and providing product knowledge via telephone or email
- Attending internal and external meetings regarding to projects and status
Skills and Experience
- Experience within the construction or building industry
- Knowledge of Engineering principals
- Knowledge of building regulations
- Engineering or design qualification – advantageous but not essential
- AutoCAD 2D experience – Essential
- Driving Licence will be essential
- Strong communication skills
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- This role would suit a candidate who has previous experience as a Design Engineer / Design Project Engineer / Design Coordinator / Project Engineer / Project Coordinator / Project Design Coordinator
