We have a current opportunity for a CYP - Outreach Worker on a temporary basis. The position will be based in Telford. For further information about this position please apply.Job Title: Children and Young Persons Outreach Support WorkerLocation: Telford TF3Type: Temporary for approx 2 monthsHourly rate: £15 - 17 per hour PAYEThe Organisation:You will be working for a specialist charity that have supported people for over 50 years to rebuild their lives who have been effected by Domestic Violence or Substance Misuse.Job Responsibilities:
- Providing support and advice to children and young people, in schools & family centres on a one-to-one basis who have been affected by domestic abuse.
- Engage children and young people in assessing their situation and planning for support and safety, performing a variety of interventions where required.
- Assisting children and young people displaying harmful behaviours to understand positive and healthy relationships
- Communicating effectively with parents / carers
Essential experience:
- Experience working within the Domestic Violence sector
- Sound knowledge and understanding of good practice in safeguarding
- Experience of working with vulnerable and disadvantaged young people
- A commitment to the values of empowerment and equality.
- Strong interpersonal skills and good written/verbal communication skills
- The ability to maintain clear professional boundaries.
- Car driver
- Confident working with a multi agency team
- Clear Enhanced DBS on update service.
