Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on various tube materials, including mild steel and stainless steel, ensuring high-quality joints.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine welding requirements and procedures.
  • Cut, bevel, and prepare tube ends for welding, ensuring proper alignment and fit-up.
  • Execute welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions, adhering to industry standards and safety protocols.
  • Inspect completed welds for defects, ensuring they meet dimensional and visual quality standards.
  • Maintain and calibrate welding equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in MIG and TIG welding, particularly with tube fabrication.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with welding symbols and industry standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with orbital welding techniques for tube joints.
  • Certification in welding (e.g, NVQ Level 3).
  • Knowledge of welding codes and standards (e.g., ISO 9606, ASME).
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
