Permanent – Full-Time

We are looking for a qualified or ‘qualified by experience’ accountant to join our expanding accountancy practice based in our office in a beautiful rural setting in Hadlow, near Tonbridge, which has plentiful free parking.

Ideally the role is full-time, however part-time applicants will also be considered. Hybrid working will also be available on agreement following passing of the probation period. We consider our staff’s health and wellbeing and work/life balance to be essential to maintain a happy team.

You must have previous experience of working in an accountancy practice, as this is a very ‘hands on’ role.

We are a very friendly firm and have grown our practice by client referrals and by delivering a great service to clients, often relying on Quickbooks cloud accounting software, which we find gives our clients meaningful information to help them and their business.

As many of our clients benefit from a fixed fee arrangement with us, we do not record our time (so no clock watching timesheets!) as we like to encourage our clients to speak to us about their businesses and form strong relationships with us.

The main job responsibilities are:

  • To prepare accounts and tax returns from client records (usually Quickbooks), including obtaining explanations and information from clients, ready for partner review.
  • To work well in a team and support the other team members, in their roles
  • To carry out any other such work a general accountancy practice may be asked by clients to provide help with, as and when necessary, with support and training.

What we’re looking for:

  • 4+ year’s accounting experience within an accountancy practice environment
  • Good organisational and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Experience of Quickbooks would be a significant advantage
  • A good team player

What we will offer you:

As well as offering a highly competitive salary, depending on your skills and experience, we will offer you opportunities to develop your potential and support you, offering training and mentoring to help you fulfil your ideal job role. In addition, we operate a staff bonus scheme.

Agencies Please Note

We have taken a decision not to use recruitment agencies, so please respect that we would prefer you not to email or phone us about this role.
