- Assess and approve foster placements, including kinship care arrangements.
- Support foster carers and promote retention of local carers.
- Identify and commission placements for children looked after, within internal and independent resources.
- Provide professional out-of-hours advice and support to foster carers.
- Work collaboratively with therapeutic and multidisciplinary services to promote placement stability.
- Recognised social work qualification (Degree, DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Care Wales.
- Experience in statutory social work with children and families.
- Knowledge of fostering legislation, guidance, and best practice.
- Ability to provide professional support and guidance to foster carers.
