Tax Director - Personal Tax

Are you an experienced tax professional with a strong background in trusts, inheritance tax planning, and private client work? We're looking for a director to lead a Trust Tax team, delivering exceptional service to a varied and high-profile client base.

This is a senior leadership role where your technical expertise, strategic insight, and client relationship skills will make a real impact. You'll work with high-net-worth individuals, families, and trustees, providing tailored tax solutions and guidance on complex trust structures and succession strategies.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of trust and high-net-worth clients, ensuring high-quality compliance and advisory services.
  • Review and sign off trust accounts and technical tax advice.
  • Advise on inheritance tax, trust structuring, and succession planning.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of advisors.
  • Build strong relationships with trustees, beneficiaries, and professional intermediaries.
  • Support business growth through client development and marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate across the firm to identify opportunities and mitigate risk.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction and operations of the trust business.

About you

  • Significant experience in a senior trust tax role.
  • ATT or CTA qualified (STEP qualification desirable).
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Able to engage confidently with ultra-high-net-worth clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Organised, commercially minded, and driven to achieve results.
  • Skilled problem-solver with a proactive approach.
