Reed HR have partnered with a company in Kent who are seeking an enthusiastic and driven HR Manager to lead the HR team across the sites in Kent. This pivotal role involves working closely with the HR Director to administer, refine, and advise on all aspects of the HR function. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with legislation and lead on safer recruitment practices, making this an excellent opportunity for a professional looking to make a significant impact in an educational setting.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Lead the HR function, including direct line management of the HR Officer.
  • Deliver an efficient and compliant HR service aligned with employment legislation and internal policies.
  • Provide expert advice and support on a wide range of HR matters, including grievance, disciplinary, and absence management.
  • Maintain and manage the Single Central Record, ensuring compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) requirements.
  • Prepare regular HR metrics reports for the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
  • Oversee the recruitment process, ensuring compliance with safer recruitment practices.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
  • Act as a first point of contact for HR-related queries, particularly regarding pay and contract matters.
  • Collaborate with the Finance department to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A formal qualification in HR Management (CIPD level 3 or above) or equivalent degree.
  • Experience in Human Resources, preferably within the education sector.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage and maintain accurate records.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build good relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Proficient in IT with a good working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and relevant databases.
  • Ability to handle confidential data and issues appropriately.
  • Experience in managing case work including absence management, disciplinary, and grievance procedures.
