A leading Legal 500 and Chambers-ranked firm is seeking an ambitious Planning Lawyer to join its highly regarded Real Estate team. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced ex-City and regional lawyers on high-quality planning and development work, while enjoying a supportive culture and a strong work-life balance.

The OpportunityThe Planning team advises a wide range of clients including major developers, landowners, housebuilders, local authorities, and private individuals. You will be involved in a broad variety of planning-related matters such as:

  • Advising on development proposals, planning strategies, and applications
  • Drafting and negotiating Section 106 agreements and infrastructure agreements
  • Lawful Development Certificates and planning appeals
  • Judicial Review and High Court challenges
  • Enforcement issues and advice on permitted development rights
  • Advising on planning risks in relation to acquisitions and disposals
  • Environmental and highways law matters
  • Supporting wider real estate, construction, and corporate transactions with planning due diligence

You will be encouraged to build strong client relationships and will have opportunities for direct client contact and business development from an early stage.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified solicitor (ideally 2-5 PQE) with experience in planning law, gained in private practice or public sector
  • Strong technical skills in both contentious and non-contentious planning matters
  • Commercially minded with excellent client care skills
  • A proactive and collaborative approach
