Our client – a well-established firm known for their friendly culture and client-focused service – is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join their busy team. This is a fantastic role for someone who thrives in a varied position managing multiple payrolls and enjoys working in a collaborative and fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities:-
Managing end-to-end payroll processing for a portfolio of clients (weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls)

Liaising with clients to collect, verify, and process payroll data

Producing and reconciling payroll reports, payslips, and journals

Handling PAYE reconciliations and preparing BACS files

Administering auto-enrolment and pension submissions to providers and The Pensions Regulator

Dealing with HMRC and client queries confidently and efficiently

Uploading pension scheme returns and handling changes in member status
Essential Skills & Experience:
-
Previous experience working in a payroll bureau or accountancy practice environment

Strong understanding of payroll legislation and the ability to manually calculate PAYE, NI, pensions, and statutory payments

Knowledge of SSP, statutory family leave, and salary sacrifice schemes

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)

Highly organised, accurate, and able to work to deadlines in a busy setting

A proactive, adaptable team player
Experience with payroll software is required – training will be provided on the firm’s system (currently PayCircle).
This is a deadline-focused role, so some flexibility during peak periods is expected.
