Our client – a well-established firm known for their friendly culture and client-focused service – is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join their busy team. This is a fantastic role for someone who thrives in a varied position managing multiple payrolls and enjoys working in a collaborative and fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing end-to-end payroll processing for a portfolio of clients (weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls)

  • Liaising with clients to collect, verify, and process payroll data

  • Producing and reconciling payroll reports, payslips, and journals

  • Handling PAYE reconciliations and preparing BACS files

  • Administering auto-enrolment and pension submissions to providers and The Pensions Regulator

  • Dealing with HMRC and client queries confidently and efficiently

  • Uploading pension scheme returns and handling changes in member status

About You:

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a payroll bureau or accountancy practice environment

  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation and the ability to manually calculate PAYE, NI, pensions, and statutory payments

  • Knowledge of SSP, statutory family leave, and salary sacrifice schemes

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)

  • Highly organised, accurate, and able to work to deadlines in a busy setting

  • A proactive, adaptable team player

Experience with payroll software is required – training will be provided on the firm’s system (currently PayCircle).

This is a deadline-focused role, so some flexibility during peak periods is expected.
