Housing & Support Officer - Permanent

Location: Uxbridge

Hours: 40 hours per week on a shift rota including weekends

Shifts: Between 8am and 8pm with varying shift patterns

Salary: £27.5k – 28.5k

An exciting permanent opportunity has arisen for a passionate and enthusiastic individual to be part of a well-established charity in Uxbridge. This role will focus on supporting vulnerable homeless persons, whilst they stay within temporary accommodation.

Role responsibilities:

  • Deliver emotional and life skills-based support, assisting service users with day-to-day tasks
  • Complete support plans and risk assessments with the service users
  • Enforce tenancy conditions in line with procedures including low-level anti-social behaviour and rent arrears
  • Offer specialist knowledge and insight into rent arrears helping tenants with budgeting
  • Carry out regular estate inspections
  • Offer advice and assistance to tenants regarding their benefit entitlements
  • Provide support and advice to tenants in relation to issues concerning their tenancies
  • Manage void properties to ensure the quickest re-let times including carrying out viewings and sign-ups

Essential requirements:

  • An Enhanced DBS with the Adults and Children’s lists checked from within the last 3 years or willingness to apply
  • Knowledge of working with vulnerable clients with mental health and substance misuse issues
  • Working knowledge of support plans and risk assessments
