Wakefield | £17.00 – £19.00 per hour (DOE) | Permanent Days

Hours: Mon–Thurs 8:00–16:30, Fri 8:00–15:15

A precision engineering company in Wakefield is looking for experienced Mechanical Fitters to join their team. This permanent role involves assembling and installing special purpose machinery, working from engineering drawings, and ensuring high standards of quality and safety.

The Role:

• Assemble and fit machinery from engineering drawings
• Install machinery at customer sites
• Use hand tools, lifting equipment and workshop machinery
• Carry out risk assessments and follow HSE procedures
• Work closely with client technical teams during installation
• Support continuous improvement and process innovation

What We’re Looking For:

• HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in mechanical assembly, ideally with exposure to electrical/pneumatic systems
• Strong knowledge of machine safety and engineering drawings
• Good communication skills and confident in a client-facing role
• Willingness to travel when required
