Quality Inspector (Permanent Role)
Based in Wakefield
30,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm & Friday 8am to 2.30pm

Job Specification:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experiencedInspectorto assess and ensure the safety and compliance of working at height access equipment across various sites in the UK. This role involves significant travel and occasional overnight stays, providing support to clients by maintaining the highest safety standards in line with current legislation and industry best practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of working at height access equipment, including but not limited to scaffolds, mobile elevating work platforms, ladders, and fall protection systems.
  • Identify defects, wear, or safety hazards, and provide detailed inspection reports with recommendations.
  • Ensure all inspections comply with UK health and safety regulations (e.g., HSE guidelines).
  • Advise clients on remedial actions, maintenance, and compliance requirements.
  • Travel across the UK to carry out inspections at client sites, occasionally requiring overnight stays.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, certifications, and compliance reports.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry standards, legislative changes, and best practices in working at height safety.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in inspecting working at height access equipment.
  • Training will be provided but relevant certification(s) such as IPAF, PASMA, or equivalent would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation relating to working at height.
  • Ability to travel extensively across the UK and work independently.
  • Strong report writing and communication skills.
  • Valid UK driving license.

  • Physically capable of performing manual labour, including lifting and moving heavy objects.
