About the Opportunity:

We're expanding our dynamic team and seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor with specific expertise in brickwork to manage the commercial aspects of our subcontract projects. This crucial role offers the chance to take ownership of the financial success of our subcontracting packages, with a significant focus on exciting brickwork developments.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Preparing and submitting accurate and timely subcontract tenders, including those for brickwork.
  • Negotiating and agreeing subcontract agreements with suppliers, especially brickwork contractors.
  • Proactively monitoring subcontract performance and effectively managing any potential issues, with a keen eye on brickwork progress and quality.
  • Preparing and submitting interim valuations and final accounts, including detailed brickwork valuations.
  • Maintaining meticulous records and documentation, specifically related to brickwork costs and quantities.
  • Providing insightful commercial support to project managers and site teams, offering your expertise on brickwork-related financial matters.
  • Conducting occasional site visits to assess progress and resolve any on-site issues, with a focus on brickwork installations.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of our commercial department, sharing best practices for brickwork cost management and driving innovation.

What You'll Bring:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
  • Demonstrable experience and a strong understanding of brickwork processes, costs, and measurement.
  • A solid grasp of subcontract law and procedures.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software packages (e.g., Excel, estimating software).
