A well-established manufacturing business based near Oxford is looking for a capable and proactive Buyer to join their team. This role sits within the purchasing department and plays a key part in ensuring materials are sourced efficiently, suppliers are performing to agreed standards, and stock levels are maintained to meet production needs.
Key Responsibilities-
Place and manage orders for both contract and non-contract items

Negotiate pricing and maintain supplier records within the MRP system

Monitor supplier performance and support improvement initiatives

Maintain appropriate stock levels and adjust MRP parameters as needed

Liaise with Stores and Production Control to ensure timely delivery and workflow

Support other departments when required

Experience using MRP/ERP systems (SAP or similar)

Strong communication and supplier management skills

Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)

A professional, organised and solutions-focused approach
A CIPS qualification is desirable but not essential — a willingness to work towards one is welcomed. This is a great opportunity for someone with some experience in Purchasing who’s looking to grow within a supportive and forward-thinking team.
