Business Support Officer - Minute Taker

Company: Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our Client, Walsall Council.

Location: Hybrid after 1 - 2 weeks shadowing training; at Children's Centre, South & Central Locality Team, Birchills. Meetings are face to face at Birchills after which transcription can be undertaken at home.

Hourly Rate: 拢15.58 per hour with potential pay increase every financial year.

Working Schedule: Monday - Thursday 8.45am with 1-hour unpaid break, Friday's 8.45am - 4.45 pm with 1-hour unpaid break. 37 hours per week.

Length of Assignment: Temporary, 3 months on-going.

Purpose of the role:

To work on a temporary basis within the Children's Services Team within Walsall Council. The Business Support Taker - Minute Taker completes the crucial role of recording and reporting the minutes from the meetings held with Walsall Children's Services and vulnerable children and young people of the Walsall Borough. The minutes that are recorded are vital documents to be used and presented in legal proceedings.

Daily tasks will look like:

路 Transcribe minutes into scripture so the final documents read as if they are being written to the child.

路 Monitor general email inbox.

路 Ability to meet deadlines of expected 72 hour turnaround for minutes to be processed accordingly to procedure.

路 Type all minutes for all meetings.

路 Transfer all minutes taken during the meeting onto official document and record onto Mosaic system used by Walsall Children's Services.

路 You will be required to meet deadlines and ensure that completed meeting minutes are submitted promptly to the local authority, professionals and parents/carers

路 The minutes will be recorded with accuracy, factual and critical information

路 Be first point of contact for phone calls and be the go-to for internal and external inquiries.

路 Keep things organised by uploading and managing documents.

路 Keep everything in sync by managing appointments, meetings, and events.

路 Support the Business Support team with any administrative tasks.

Essential Experience:

路Experience within a fast-paced office environment.

路 Experience in typing Minutes during meetings is essential.

路 Touch typing abilities.

路 Similar experience within taking typed Notes and Minutes is essential for this role.

路 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

路 You've got an eye for detail and a passion for accuracy.

路 Excellent time management and organisational skills are essential for this role.
