Manufacturing Engineer (CNC / Engineering)

Job Description

  • To co-ordinate the NPI projects and processes engaging with all departments, customers and suppliers.
  • Manufacturing engineering in both CNC Milling and Turning capabilities up to 5 axis
  • Able to Project Manage, taking on responsibility for coordinating projects, within NPI manufacturing. You will complete stage gate reviews, work with senior stakeholders, to ensure the project is delivered on time and within set goals.
  • High level of technical and practical machining experience which they will use to plan, design, optimise and productionise our manufacturing processes.
  • To engineer from 1 off product to mass produced parts.
  • Turn quotations around within service level guidelines and maintaining good working relationships with suppliers and customers.
  • To where possible future proof operations to be able to reduce cycle times and allow more product through the business.
  • To improve the business OEE and engineering KPI’s
  • Writing and deploying SOP’s
  • Offline programming, fmailarity with VISI CAM highly desired
  • To reduce manufacturing costs by using Lean tools.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment ensuring adherence to company and legal standards and compliance.
  • Using Continuous improvement skills and supporting all NPI

Able to project plan, communicate liaise effectively, efficiently and proactively with customers and sub-contractors.

Key Accountabilites

Builds relationships with other departments within the NPI program team. Assists in marketing the NPI process to customers. Identifies cost containment opportunities. Identifies trends and areas of focus for continuous improvement.

Impacts key quality goals including Customer Satisfaction, Continuous Improvement, Timeliness, Accuracy, Efficiency, Cost Savings, Process Quality, etc.

Setting up production trials readying for mass production.

Ensuring supply chain and ops readiness, including master data set up, BOMs, routings, raw materials availability etc.

Ensuring NPI projects run to budgets, factoring in manufacturing costs, capex needs, line run rates etc.

Customer facing, working with NPD and project teams to ensure NPI runs smoothly. As the customer's main point of contact, you’ll be updating on project progress and using your expertise to guide the customer's NPI decisions.

Working closely with the Engineering Manager effectively to achieve daily targets are met

Support individuals and the team with engineering issues and help deliver the best engineering solutions

To quote, program and engineer product through the business.

Support in implementing changes, acting as change and continuous improvement.

Use Lean manufacturing tools throughout the business- including 5 ‘s

Excellent communication and integration with Operators

Engage with Internal communication with SQCPD boards

Support with operational issues and problems to keep machines running and product conforming.
