Sonic Summary

We are seeking a mechanical design engineer with a minimum of 8 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering Design.
The role involves creating innovative design solutions for the flat glass handling and processing industry.
Essential skills include proficiency in Inventor, AutoCAD Mechanical, and MS Office 365, along with detailing machined components and welded fabrications.
The salary for this position ranges from £40,000 to £50,000, based on skills and experience.
Candidates with knowledge of special purpose machines and glass handling equipment will be preferred.

We are looking for a mechanical design engineer to join our highly dedicated team. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering innovative design solutions to the flat glass handling & processing industry.

Essential Skills:

Mechanical Engineering Design.

Working knowledge of Inventor, AutoCAD Mechanical and MS Office 365.

Detailing of machined components, welded fabrications, sheet metal and laser cut parts.

Experience:

Minimum of 8 years working within the field of Mechanical Engineering Design.

Knowledge or experience of design of special purpose machines.

Glass handling equipment and conveyor systems experience would be ideal.

Responsibilities (Included but not limited to):

Mechanical design of new products from concept sketches or design brief using Inventor 2022 and AutoCAD 2022 (Autodesk Factory Design Suite 2022)Modification of existing products.Production of mechanical manufacturing and assembly drawings to the agreed ISO and quality standards.Research and specify suitable proprietary parts.Production of bill of materials (BOM). Experience with SAP is desirable but essential.Maintain standard product library.Follow HSE machinery safety standards.Machinery Risk Assessment for new and existing equipment.Support production team during assembly and testing phases.Change control – Following company process for improvements.Machinery layouts for customer & quotation purposes.
