Finance Manager
- Annual Salary: £45,000- £50,000 FTE (depending on experience)
- Location: Hybrid (Work from home / Walton-on-Thames, Surrey)
- Job Type: Permanent, Part-time (14 hours a week)
An independent charity in Surrey is seeking a Finance Manager. This role offers the opportunity to provide strategic financial advice and support, playing a crucial role in managing the charity's finances and contributing to its financial resilience.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage and control the charity's finances, ensuring compliance and efficiency in financial operations.
- Prepare statutory financial statements, Annual Reports, and Impact Reports, including liaising with external auditors.
- Manage payroll processing and liaise with third-party providers.
- Oversee the annual renewal of insurance policies and maintain a register of fixed assets.
- Develop and maintain financial controls and policies to support the charity's progress.
- Prepare quarterly management accounts and reports for trustees.
- Monitor and report on the use of restricted grant income.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and manage cash flow effectively.
- Provide ad hoc financial information and analysis to senior management as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience with a track record of managing finances in a similar-sized organisation.
- Experience in financial statement preparation and managing year-end audit processes.
- Proficient in management accounts, budgets, and forecasts.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel and Word; ability to consolidate financial and statistical information.
- Experience with online cloud accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build successful working relationships.
- Team player with the ability to manage and develop staff.
