An independent charity in Surrey is seeking a Finance Manager. This role offers the opportunity to provide strategic financial advice and support, playing a crucial role in managing the charity's finances and contributing to its financial resilience.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage and control the charity's finances, ensuring compliance and efficiency in financial operations.
  • Prepare statutory financial statements, Annual Reports, and Impact Reports, including liaising with external auditors.
  • Manage payroll processing and liaise with third-party providers.
  • Oversee the annual renewal of insurance policies and maintain a register of fixed assets.
  • Develop and maintain financial controls and policies to support the charity's progress.
  • Prepare quarterly management accounts and reports for trustees.
  • Monitor and report on the use of restricted grant income.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and manage cash flow effectively.
  • Provide ad hoc financial information and analysis to senior management as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience with a track record of managing finances in a similar-sized organisation.
  • Experience in financial statement preparation and managing year-end audit processes.
  • Proficient in management accounts, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel and Word; ability to consolidate financial and statistical information.
  • Experience with online cloud accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build successful working relationships.
  • Team player with the ability to manage and develop staff.
