Acoustic Consultant - Walton-on-Thames - £32,000 to £45,000 + Benefits

A UK-based Acoustic Engineering Consultancy is seeking an Acoustic Consultant to join their growing team in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of acoustic projects focused on the design, supply, and installation of noise control solutions for the built environment, primarily across London and the Home Counties.

Essential Criteria:

  • A degree in Acoustics or a related discipline (e.g., Physics, Engineering).

  • Working knowledge of environmental and/or building acoustics assessments, including BS4142, BS8233, or BB93.

  • Experience in noise modelling, site surveys, data analysis, and reporting.

  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Membership with the Institute of Acoustics (IOA).

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience working in consultancy delivering noise assessments and mitigation advice.

  • Confidence with acoustic software and measurement equipment.

  • Ability to engage with clients, attend meetings, and produce fee proposals.

  • Interest in hardware/product design, noise control engineering, or R&D is a plus.

The Role:You'll support a wide range of noise and vibration projects across sectors such as construction, education, commercial, and infrastructure. The role combines acoustic consultancy with opportunities to contribute to product design, development, and testing-making it an ideal fit for a well-rounded consultant.

Responsibilities include:

  • Site surveys, monitoring, and data collection.

  • Acoustic modelling, calculations, and reporting.

  • Project coordination and time tracking.

  • Client liaison and proposal development.

  • Site meetings and involvement in design/testing of acoustic hardware.
