James Lewis have teamed up with a long-standing client to help source a MechanicalSite Manager for a project near Wantage. The company are a well-established M&E Contractor who have been trading for over 40 years with a turnover of in excess of 40m, predominantly in fit-out projects up to 15m in M&E value.
The project is a 4m fast track CAT B fit out of the offices of a well-known F1 racing team. The project forms part of a wider campus expansion which includes larger manufacturing and testing facilities, new offices and improved staff facilities. Due to a targeted approach to winning more work in the Oxford area, our client is confident of being able to move you to another project in the region once this project is completed.
The MechanicalSite Manager duties include:
- Manage and oversee the on-site construction team, including external Subcontractors
- Ensure all Subcontractors work to the programme ensuring a timely delivery
- Ordering materials, completing schedules of work
- Report on all Health and Safety issues and demonstrate H&S Leadership and on site monitoring of all team members and Contractors
- QA inspections of installations identifying potential defects and risks
- Take ownership of Mechanical issues and liaise with the Client and Design consultants to obtain closure and clarifications where necessary
- Conducting toolbox talks
- Ensure clear reporting lines into Contracts Manager and Project Manager
- Management of paperwork, reporting, RFIs, method statements and site diaries
- Ensure installations are in accordance with drawing specifications
To be considered you will need to demonstrate previous experience working as an MechanicalSite Manager in commercial office fit out, ideally CAT B. You must be in possession of a CSCS Black Card, a valid SMSTS or SSSTS certificate and First Aid qualification. You will also require a minimum NVQ Level 3 in a relevant mechanicalfield or HNC/HND in mechanical engineering or building services.
