An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and experienced Deputy Manager to join our dedicated team in a 2-bed children’s home in Warrington. We are looking for a child-focused professional with a strong understanding of Ofsted regulations to support the Registered Manager in delivering outstanding care and outcomes for our young people.
This is a rewarding role where you will help shape a nurturing, safe, and supportive environment for children and young people, many of whom have experienced trauma or disruption in their lives.
What You’ll Do
- Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home
- Lead and supervise a team of residential care staff
- Ensure high standards of care and compliance with Ofsted regulations
- Promote a safe, stable, and therapeutic environment
- Participate in the staff rota, including sleep-in duties and weekend shifts
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and professionals
- Contribute to care planning and risk assessments
What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications & Training
- NVQ Level 3 in Care of Children & Young People or Diploma in Social Care
- Team Teach (or equivalent behaviour management training)
Experience & Knowledge
- Experience working with children and young people in a social care setting
- Understanding of young people’s needs and behaviours
- Experience supervising staff and contributing to team development
- Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and risk management
- Calm, reflective approach in challenging situations
- Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively with professionals and families
