Finance Business Partner | £65,000 - £70,000 + bonus | Cheshire
An opportunity to join a large national business based in Cheshire in a highly commercial role with a focus on driving margin and improving strategic understanding across the business.
Reporting into the Commercial Finance Manager, you will have a broad role with main duties including;
- Partner with sales teams to evaluate customer profitability, deal structures, and pricing strategies to support margin growth.
- Provide financial insight on sales performance, helping identify high- and low-performing products, customers, and channels.
- Support the development of sales forecasts and targets, ensuring they align with financial expectations and business strategy.
- Build financial models to assess the commercial impact of new deals, promotions, and trading terms before proposals are finalised.
- Guide sales teams on discounting thresholds, rebate schemes, and incentive structures that protect profitability.
- Analyse trends in product sales, returns, and volumes to help refine the product mix and commercial focus.
- Work collaboratively on customer bids, tenders, and renewals, ensuring pricing is both competitive and commercially viable.
- Deliver monthly reporting packs and actionable insights to sales leaders, highlighting risks, variances, and growth opportunities.
- Act as a commercial conscience within cross-functional sales meetings, challenging assumptions and supporting data-driven decisions.
- Support go-to-market strategies for new product launches with robust financial planning and post-launch performance tracking.
- Contribute to annual planning and budgeting by aligning sales targets with realistic market conditions and customer dynamics.
- Promote financial literacy and self-service tools within the sales team to improve data transparency and ownership.
Candidate profile;
- CIMA/ACCA/ACA Qualified
- Proven experience in a highly commercial environment and previous role
- Excellent communication skills
- Advanced excel skills
- Prior retail or FMCG sector experience is advantageous
