Specialising in fast-paced, high-volume projects within the retail sector, they work with blue-chip clients and pride themselves on maintaining a strong commercial team. Due to internal progression, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team in Warrington.

Job Description:

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the senior commercial team in delivering retail fit-out projects across the retail sector. You will assist in managing project costs, preparing reports, and ensuring that projects stay within budget. The role is ideal for someone looking to develop their skills and progress within the Quantity Surveying field, with plenty of exposure to various aspects of the project lifecycle. You will have the opportunity to work with a friendly, supportive team, and gain experience on high-profile, fast-track projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and final accounts for retail fit-out projects.

Support the management of project costs, ensuring accurate and timely reports are delivered.

Help measure and value work on site, ensuring compliance with contract specifications.

Liaise with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to assist in resolving cost-related issues.

Assist in the procurement process for subcontractors and materials, ensuring effective cost control.

Support senior surveyors in the delivery of projects, ensuring they are on time and within budget.

Contribute to the management and monitoring of cash flow on projects.

Provide administrative support for the commercial team and contribute to the preparation of tender documents.

Assist with cost forecasting and reporting, ensuring accurate project tracking.

Support the team in ensuring all contractual obligations are met and work is compliant with regulations.

Ideal Candidate:

1-3 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably with exposure to retail fit-out or fast-track projects.

Experience or interest in the food retail sector is desirable but not essential.

Strong understanding of basic construction contract principles and regulations.

Some experience in cost estimating or project cost management would be beneficial.

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines.

Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.

A degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent qualification) is preferred, but not essential.

A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn and develop within the role.
