Supplier Specialist – Warrington - Hybrid 3 days per week – 9-month interim contract - £23.83 per hour PAYE - £30.32 per hour – Start ASAP

Reed Talent Solutions are supporting a public sector organisation in the recruitment of a Supplier Specialist to lead the management and development of multi-million-pound, medium cost and business risk assessed suppliers. This role is crucial for driving the fullest overall cost, risk, relationship, innovation, and performance value from our preferred suppliers. The successful candidate will be accountable for delivering significant savings and benefits, aligned with our Commercial Balanced Business Scorecard.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead the management of 10 to 15 medium cost and business risk assessed suppliers, utilising the full implementation of the Supplier Collaboration Framework.
  • Develop supplier joint account plans, meeting governance frameworks, and continuous improvement targets.
  • Collaborate with Market Management and Sourcing team members and other relevant stakeholders to maximise value in terms of cost, risk, relationship, innovation, and performance.
  • Drive ongoing and significant savings and benefits throughout the contract and relationship lifecycle.
  • Establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with preferred suppliers and relevant stakeholders to execute the Supplier Management Framework effectively.
  • Negotiate and implement significant incremental cost savings and benefits throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Execute the Meeting Governance Framework for led suppliers, including 'Head of' level sponsorship.
  • Identify evolving business requirements throughout the contract and relationship lifecycle, including contract changes, maintenance, renewals, and demand management activities.
  • Introduce supplier-enabled innovation capabilities to deliver competitive advantages.
  • Provide key input into the annual Integrated Market Planning reviews in collaboration with the Market and Sourcing teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in supplier management, particularly with medium to high cost and business risk suppliers.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage complex supplier relationships.
  • Expertise in negotiation and implementing cost-saving strategies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders across different levels.
  • Experience in contract management, including variations and commercial disputes resolution.
  • Knowledge of Supplier Management Frameworks and governance.
  • Driving license is essential for this role.
