Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a E&I Technical Author interested in opportunities on a contract basis with remote working. Key Responsibilities


  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including:

    • System descriptions, specifications, and design reports.

    • Drawings, I/O lists, wiring and loop diagrams, and cable schedules.

    • Installation, testing, and commissioning procedures.

    • Operation and maintenance manuals, and handover documentation.

  • Translate engineering data, drawings, and schematics into clear and structured documents.

  • Ensure all documentation complies with company, client, and industry standards.

  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project teams to gather and verify technical information.

  • Manage document revisions, version control, and formatting consistency.

  • Support quality reviews, audits, and updates to documentation templates and processes.


Skills and Experience


  • HNC/HND or degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience preparing documentation for E&I design, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.

  • Strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems, including drawings and schematics.

  • Good working knowledge of industry standards

    Ability to interpret complex technical information and present it clearly
