Interim Technical Manager

This is a 2 month contract with a possible extension.

Payrate: £28 (PAYE) per hour

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Asset Manager in delivering the operational objectives of the Asset Team and contribute to the strategic development of the service. (15%)
  • Act as lead manager to ensure all programmes of work are managed from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with CDM and other statutory requirements. (30%)
  • Lead on procurement strategies for major schemes, develop contract documentation, and ensure compliance with Public Contracts Regulations. (30%)
  • Oversee the delivery of various surveys and maintain asset management and financial systems accurately. (25%)
The role involves assisting in the management of 50 operational buildings, 140 non-operational buildings, and a housing stock of 5,483 social or affordable rented homes, 15 shared ownership homes, and 601 leasehold properties. The role has direct or transitional responsibility for several budgets including:

Person Specification

Qualifications & Experience:
 
  • Degree in Building Surveying or equivalent with significant post-qualification experience.
  • NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience in managing housing and commercial contracted programmes.
  • Knowledge of Fire Safety, Asbestos, and Building Services.
  • Experience of managing a team in a similar environment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Decent Homes Standards/HHSRS and RICS guidance.
  • Problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.

Other Requirements:

  • Access to appropriate transport and occasional evening meeting attendance.
