Role Overview:An opportunity has become available for a proactive and organised Yard Supervisor to take responsibility for the day-to-day operations of a busy builders' yard in Watford. This position involves leading a team, managing stock and logistics, and ensuring high standards of safety and service.

Ideal for a hands-on individual with strong leadership abilities and experience in a fast-paced, physical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the receipt, handling, storage, and dispatch of goods

• Supervise yard staff, ensuring productivity, safety, and high-quality service

• Monitor and manage stock levels to support inventory accuracy

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised yard environment

• Deliver a high standard of on-site customer service

• Enforce all relevant health and safety procedures

• Provide performance updates and report on yard activities

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience in a yard-based or supervisory role

• Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills

• Familiarity with building materials is advantageous

• Knowledge and application of health and safety practices

• Valid counterbalance forklift licence

• Comfortable with physical work and machinery operation

• Basic computer skills, particularly for stock control and reporting

• Full UK driving licence may be required for the role
