The Opportunity

A well-established secondary school in Hertfordshire is seeking a skilled and motivated Design and Technology Teacher to join its dedicated teaching team. This is a full-time, permanent position suitable for someone with a strong subject knowledge and a commitment to delivering high-quality DT education across Key Stages 3 and 4.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach across a range of DT disciplines in well-equipped specialist rooms and will be supported by an experienced and collaborative department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging and practical DT lessons in line with the national curriculum

  • Teach a variety of DT areas, which may include Resistant Materials, Graphics, Product Design, or Engineering

  • Monitor and assess student progress through accurate marking and feedback

  • Maintain high standards of classroom management and behaviour

  • Contribute to curriculum development and the wider life of the department

  • Support and guide pupils to develop their creativity, problem-solving, and technical skills

What We’re Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching Design and Technology at secondary level

  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for the subject

  • Good classroom management and the ability to motivate learners of all abilities

  • Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities and department projects
