Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a supportive and welcoming primary school in Watford that is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team from September 2025.

About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and considering a future in teaching. The successful candidate will be working across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, delivering lessons during teacher release time for planning, preparation and assessment, as well as during short-term staff absences.

Lesson plans will be provided, and you will be responsible for delivering the content, marking the work, and feeding back to the class teacher. When not covering lessons, you'll support teaching and learning by working alongside teachers in the classroom and providing targeted support to individuals and small groups.

Whether you have a passion for Art, Music, Design & Technology, Science, Computing, or enjoy teaching a broad range of subjects, this role offers excellent variety and scope.

Working Hours:

  • From 33.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • School hours: 8:30am - 4:00pm, plus one hour per week for staff meetings
  • Attendance at five INSET days is also required

Requirements:

  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • High standard of spoken and written English
  • Experience working with primary-aged children in a classroom setting is desirable
  • Ability to manage a classroom effectively and follow prepared plans
