A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Watford is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team with an immediate start. The school has a strong focus on inclusion, wellbeing, and tailored support, offering a positive and supportive setting for both pupils and staff.

The Role

This full-time, term-time position is ideal for someone who is patient, compassionate, and committed to supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs. You will work closely with class teachers and the SEN team to deliver targeted support, both 1:1 and in small groups, helping pupils access the curriculum and develop confidence and independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN (including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH)

  • Support learning in and out of the classroom

  • Assist with implementing EHCPs and personalised learning plans

  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and social development

  • Support pupils with communication and sensory needs

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and support staff

  • Monitor progress and contribute to reviews and reports

The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience supporting children with SEN is highly desirable

  • A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to adapt to individual learning and behavioural needs

  • Willingness to undertake training and professional development

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
