We are thrilled to be supporting a market-leading, customer-first business known for its national presence and ambitious growth based in Wednesbury. The company is currently on a journey to enhance its financial governance and regulatory landscape - and this is your chance to be at the centre of that transformation. As Financial Reporting and Controls Accountant, you'll take ownership of financial compliance reporting for the group's regulated entities. You'll support submissions to regulatory bodies, as well as provide insights to the Risk & Audit Committee and the Board. The role offers a balance of technical financial reporting, regulatory engagement, and hands-on financial controls testing and improvement.
This role comes with an annual salary of up to 60,000.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for regulatory bodies.
- Support the preparation of board-level reporting on compliance and governance for regulated subsidiaries
- Own financial accounting activities for specific regulated entities within the group
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls across the organisation
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand the regulatory impact of business decisions
- Monitor industry and governance changes, recommending updates to internal control frameworks
- Lead on compliance reporting related to financial covenants and refinancing activity
- Collaborate with external auditors on controls testing and evidence provision
Candidate Experience, Qualifications and Skills:
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
- Strong understanding of IFRS and financial regulations
- Previous experience preparing or reviewing regulatory reporting
- Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines, prioritise tasks and drive continuous improvement
- Confident working with stakeholders at all levels, including auditors and board members
- Comfortable working autonomously with an eye for detail and accuracy
