About the role
As an Applications Engineer, you’ll play a vital part in ensuring customer orders are delivered on time and to the highest standards. Your background may be in technical sales, planning engineering, or process engineering — but what we’re really looking for is your attention to detail, your ability to read and understand technical drawings, and to plan the relevant processes within manufacturing.

  • Interesting, varied projects across a range of components and processes

  • Strong and secure pipeline of orders – giving long-term workload stability

  • Opportunities to broaden your skills, with staff encouraged to move between departments to learn new areas

  • A modern, spacious facility with open plan offices and on-site parking

What you’ll be doing:

  • Define and plan manufacturing processes for machined components

  • Identify materials, heat treatment, and testing requirements to meet customer standards

  • Liaise with sales and other departments to ensure smooth workflow

  • Create route cards and instructions for production teams

  • Look for improvements that maximise efficiency and reduce waste

  • Work with suppliers and subcontractors to keep projects on track

What we’re looking for:

  • Applications, process, planning or technical sales engineering experience within a manufacturing environment

  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD data

  • Knowledge of international material and dimensional standards (ASTM, ISO, BS, DIN)

  • Familiarity with processes such as CNC machining, forging, heat treatment, coatings, and testing

  • Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail

  • Confident with MS Office

Package and benefits:

  • ÂŁ40,000 – ÂŁ50,000 salary

  • Monday to Friday, 40-hour week (typical pattern: 7.30am – 5.00pm Mon–Thurs, early finish Friday)

  • Pension scheme (3% employer / 5% employee)

  • Employee assistance programme (mental health, financial, and wellbeing support)
