Job Title: Nightshift Supervisor - Transport & Logistics
Location: Wednesbury
Salary: £35,000 – £38,000 per annum
Hours: 20:00 – 06:00, Sunday to Thursday (possible adjustment to 18:00 – 04:00)
Contract Type: Permanent
About the Role:
Our client is seeking a Nightshift Supervisor to lead their transport operations and ensure a smooth, efficient delivery process. You’ll manage trailers, oversee night drivers, and support tug/shunting operations during busy periods, breaks, or holidays.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervise night operations, ensuring all site procedures and safety policies are followed.

Ensure deliveries are completed efficiently and customer requirements are met, maintaining high standards of timekeeping and attendance.

Undertake vehicle and trailer checks, reporting defects and ensuring all equipment is fit for purpose.

Prepare trailers for loading, implement the loading schedule, and maximise payload efficiency while preventing damage.

Support tug driving and shunting operations during periods of high volume, lunch breaks, or staff absence.

Assist with compliance against Operators Licence requirements.

Maintain excellent communication with drivers and the transport office, including handovers and debriefs.

Lead by example, fostering a positive, safe, and productive team environment.
Requirements:

Experience in transport, logistics, or supervisory roles.

Knowledge of vehicle checks, loading procedures, and compliance standards.

Ability to operate a tug and assist with shunting is desirable.
